Fundraising is great fun and there are endless funky ways to do it but sometimes people are put off because they think small amounts of money won’t make much of a difference. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

Need inspiration for what to do? Here are a few quirky ideas but we’re all ears if you’ve got other suggestions!

Sports Day – most schools have them, some companies have them too – we’d be really happy to plant trees for the winners – get in touch today!

Swimming Challenge – dive right in there and have fun keeping fit and raising funds too!

Scrabble Tournament – now that sounds like a peaceful pursuit and the race will be on to lay down 7 letter words!

Big Walk – a nicely planned route for a big walk, run or jog and all for a great charity too. It’s a marvellous way of getting your event in the local paper!

Plant Sale – from tiny seedlings, great things can grow, including our funds to plant trees!

Custard Pie the Boss – but only with their express permission, of course. Try pitching it to them as a team building event… and good luck!

Have a Movie Night In – invite your chums around and ask them to pop a few pounds in the pot for us… get creative in the kitchen and make popcorn and soft drink sales too!

Pamper Up – you can’t beat a good pamper evening where all the bits of your body say, ‘Ooohhh’ in unison. Every pound raised will help us make a big difference!

Open Your Garden – Mary, Mary quite jolly lovely, how does your garden grow? Short walks around your pride and joy should bring in a blossoming kitty!

Take the Veggie Challenge – be sponsored to go veggie for a week or a month – you never know, you might just love it!

Have an Art Jam – check with the council if you’re planning on doing this in a public place, but all you need is chalk, pavement, some great ideas and a dry day!

Sticky Bun o’clock – served with tea, with coffee, with soft drinks… bake up some yummies and sell them with a nice drink, everyone’s happy!

Old Book Sale – dust off your shelves and make way for new reading material! Sell them through eBay and we’ll make a bit more cash too.

Get on Yer Bike – and cycle your way towards some super fundraising: remember, Lycra is not a fashion statement, it’s clingy and optional!

Just Quit – smoking, alcohol, chocolate… whatever your vice, if you’re having too much, a sponsored abstention or a straight quit would be good for you and our communities in Kenya!

Sponsored Silence -shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……………………….

Sponsored Snogging – ehem… well, I doubt we need to give you any pointers on this one!

Workin’ at the Car Wash – a smashing activity for the summer months but remember, cars get grubby in the winter too!

Themed Dinner Party – get your buddies to dress up as chickens, Hawaiian dancers, vicars and tarts or whatever tickles your fancy (dress)!

Sponsored Chest Shave – or waxing – the hardest thing about the latter version is getting your tongue around being able to say it!

Swear Box the Office – this could bring in a fortune if they start discussing politics, religion, sport!

Lawn Mow – sponsored lawn mows will need a good team of folks all prepared to push it to the edge (get it, the ‘edge’ of the lawn of course!)

Be a Busker – check with your local council to see if you need a permit and then sing your heart out for a good cause!

Darts Tournament – gather your mates down the pub and step up to the oche!

Dog Walking – keep fit, keep the doggies happy and raise a few welcome pounds for our charity too!

Dog Wash – get sticky mitts on the sticky mutts and raise a few pounds for us!

Face Painting – summer fêtes and village fairs, they’re a part of our fabric – get colourful with your creations and the pennies will add up to pounds!

Talent Show – this is a great event to organise once the autumn nights start drawing in!

Arm Wrestling Contest – who’s the daddy… or the mummy – this is a lovely easy contest to set up and run!

Put on an Art Exhibition – a really enjoyable way to raise a few pounds on the door and for sales of pieces too!

So there you have it, here’s a stack of great really simple ideas to help us increase the canopy cover in Kenya and leave a legacy forest too. If you’d like to ramp up your sporting efforts by doing major events like marathons or big swims for example, we have a few resources that will help your sponsorship kick off with a bang.

We’ll share your efforts on our social media too.

Whatever your fundraising ideas are, let us know what you’re doing and we’ll do our very best to help you on your way.

Thank you for thinking of us.
